1) Basecamp – For years Basecamp has been the top choice for entrepreneurs, freelancers, small businesses and groups inside big organizations. Basecamp tackles project management from an entirely different angle: A focus on communication and collaboration. Basecamp brings people together.

With Basecamp-Invoicera integration, Invoicera users would be able to import Basecamp projects, staff members and clients into their Invoicera account. The time for these projects can be tracked using Invoicera’s time tracking capabilities to generate invoices for the projects.

2) Gmail and iGoogle Time Tracking Gadget – Our Google time tracking gadget allows you to log project work time even while you are checking mails in your Gmail account or from your iGoogle account. This would further streamline the time tracking for your projects and their respective tasks as you would no longer be required to track project work time only from your Invoicera account.

We believe these add-ons and gadget would add enormous value to your Invoicera account. And since it is just a beginning you can expect many more integrations in the days to come that will offer unparallel advantage. This post is of enormous significance as it announces the arrival of the very first integration done at Invoicera. And today we are pleased to announce our integration with 37signals’ Basecamp project management service. Basecamp is one of the finest web based project management tool and it is an amazing service for anyone who wants to do project management with your clients and team.

It is a real haul to enter same identical entries such as client information, project name, projects task(s), etc. in multiple web based applications. In fact the whole exercise of manually adding identical records at various business applications is redundant and superfluous. Not to mention the frustration that creeps in.

But after the integration with Basecamp it is now super-easy to import client details such as addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses directly from Basecamp to your Invoicera account for instant invoicing. Apart from importing clients you can also import your Basecamp projects and staff members.

Now you can quickly import clients, projects and staff from Basecamp and instantly create an invoice for the respective client and project. Everything right from importing details and sending invoice can be carried out using a single account and we believe invoicing your Basecamp clients couldn’t be easier.

And, therefore, integration with Basecamp creates the ultimate one-two punch: Get your job done—and get paid.

That’s about it for the moment. Since this is our first ever integration we would love to hear from all about how the integration is working for you and how advantageous it has been. From our end we can promise this is our first big step towards many such useful third party integrations. And we would be further enhancing our Basecamp integration for wider usage.

Before we jump start the topic, for those who have already started to hyperventilate noticing the speed of our updates, enhancements and new features we would like to announce on the big stage that Invoicera likes to distinguish itself from the pack of online invoicing application which are updated once in a year. Incessant upgradation and innovation are the key virtues associated with Invoicera and at no point in time we would give them up (at least not any sooner).

So we do have surprises in store for you (some real goodies) but you would have to hold on for a while to see. For the moment we would like to treat you all with the latest update that we have churned out in the form of ‘Report Summary’.  Reports form the most elementary and significant section of any online invoicing and billing application and, therefore, need to be comprehensive, self explanatory, interactive and internal to your business. Keeping this in mind we have added a new section of report summary that would show the total of each currency amount, separately giving you individual total for each of the currency used for invoicing. Over the past few months we have been making enhancements and bringing you updates at rate of knots and look to keep the juggernaut rolling for at least sometime. These enhancements and updates are a result of feedback that we receive in numbers (we are fortunate to have users who work behind the scenes for us) and meticulous brainstorming sessions conducted in our chamber. These updates, however diminutive they seem to be, have big impact not only in the functionality of the application but also connect with the users’ requirements.

Therefore, in our latest update it would now be possible to export all invoice templates to PDF in their respective colors. There were those who requested to have invoice PDF to be in the same color as invoice template, while other just wondered why PDF would have only green color (no matter which color the invoice template was). Hence, this update carries a lot of significance as it intends to meet the invoicing requirements of many while washing away the suspicion of some.

There would be lot many updates, changes and enhancements in the days to come. So don’t hold back any feedback that you would like to be implemented. Just drop it in our mail box and leave the rest to us. Till then stay tuned for our next update!

Over the past few days we have been meticulously working on prioritizing and preparing a list of upgrades/feedback that have been long due and need to be implemented on immediate grounds. One of the most important and significant section of the application is the ‘client preview’ section. Ideally it should give us the bird’s eye view of even the minutest of details pertaining to any specific clients. Therefore, after reviewing this section of the application from the user perspective almost countless times followed by as many deliberations, we decided to necessitate the required enhancements.

The new client preview section will now become your one stop shop for everything you are required to know about your client. Not only this, you can also perform any required action without having to move around the application. The drill down capability for sections like invoices, estimates, expenses and payment history would allow you to view and analyze key metrics of business performance. Since this section has been recently introduced we would be further improving it with additional functionalities.

There is one minor enhancement which has been done on the manage invoices section as well. The status of the invoices would now be highlighted with two separate colors. The light yellow color represents those invoices which have not been sent to your clients while the light orange color represents those invoices which have been sent to your clients. On the invoice status, mouse hover will display a one liner detail about the status. Also while previewing the invoice a notification would display on the top stating on which date the invoice was last sent and when the payment was done for the invoice.

All these upgrades are intended to improve the overall functionality of the application without diluting our underlying principle of simplicity. There is an unending list of feedback/enhancements that we have with us which makes our roadmap unambiguous and uncomplicated. We look forward to your valuable suggestions which have been instrumental in making the application one of the best!

With multi-language invoicing recently arriving at Invoicera, it has become one of the most prevalent and widely used features amongst our users. The flexibility and expediency it brings along has benefited many and also facilitates better, powerful, efficient and localized invoicing. This was the paramount objective with which it was brought into effect.

To extent the advantage further we have made few enhancements in the way multi-language invoicing is done. Till now it was only possible to create an invoice in any language by typing that particular language and manually replacing the invoice headings. But it would now be possible to generate invoices in 11 different languages with just a single click.

You can customize invoice fields in different languages either at the time of adding a new client or by editing the existing client. The ‘Invoice Template Field’ button shows you the list of terms that would be used in the invoice and the ‘Select Language’ dropdown allows you to choose the language. All invoice fields would be converted in the language selected. Apart from changing the language you can change the name of the invoice field as per the nature of your business or profession.

In the most recent feature update your Invoicera account would now have the ability to generate future revenue reports from recurring invoices. Remember report cards that you used to dread during your school days, this one is very different. The difference is that instead of D against subjects this recurring report would generate forecasted revenue that you would potentially be earning from your recurring invoices during the entire year.

We believe this report would be extremely beneficial for all Invoicera users who have created recurring profiles for invoicing. They would be able to view the forecasted revenue for all recurring invoices during the current year. Just imagine the impact it would have to have the ability to view all of next year’s expected invoices based on all the recurring profiles. Let us take for instance, if X is a web hosting service provider and uses Invoicera almost solely for hosting and email campaign bills (which is recurring revenue) and has the ability to glance through where he stands in the current year, month by month, in terms of the revenue generated would be invaluable.

It is this thought that prompted us to integrate this feature with Invoicera, just to give that extra leverage and ability with your invoice reporting.

Along with this update we also took the opportunity to provide you with additional permission for your staff. Now while giving staff permissions you would have the option to grant access to your staff members to view only those invoices which they have created for their clients. This implies staff members would be able to view only those invoices which they have created and not created by any other staff member. This permission can be granted by ticking ‘Staff Specific Invoices/Estimates’ under the staff tab in set permissions.

Hola amigos! We bring you some very exciting news this week as we roll out the most puffed feature – Multiple Language Invoicing.

You can now send invoices and estimates in any language that you wish to, be it French, German, Spanish, Dutch so on and so forth. This is where Invoicera’s multiple language invoicing is different from the rest. We not only support all major languages but also support not so commonly used languages. This would enable our users to create and send invoices in their local language, hence facilitating better, powerful and efficient invoicing.

And as for those users who have appetite for international invoicing now have the option to send a Factura to Spanish client, Fattura to Italian client, a Rechnung to German client and in any other client language across the globe.

Invoice Template Customization

Apart from creating invoices/estimates in multiple language you now have the option to customize invoice/estimate templates as well!

You would now be able to edit/customize invoice templates with your custom fields and in any language. This implies you would have the option to replace the field for e.g. product/service with your own custom field and in any language.

With our distinguished customization feature you can change the fields in the same language in which you wish to create an invoice. For e.g. if you want to display products/services field in German, then you can mention this is as Produkte/Dienstleistungen on the invoice. Similarly you can customize other fields as well.

Most of freelancers and businesses are required to invoice clients in various countries, and must or should prepare invoice in the client’s primary language. Invoicera’s invoicing now fits this requirement and invoices can be created, send, exported to PDF and Printed in any language.

Calculator

While adding new features we also took the opportunity to enhance usability by making some minor changes but above all by providing you with the option to use calculator. The use of calculator would allow you to make quick calculations while creating invoices or estimates. This might seem to be a small feature but a very useful one.
