You do not have to feel embarrassed in tooting your own horn. With the social media and networking getting really popular, a little bragging here and a little boasting there, can bring on major success. It may seem both weird and funny as to many of us it may appear as if we are talking to our own self but ironically it is not.

With hundreds and thousands of us making our presence felt on Twitter, Facebook, Blogs and Youtube with the endless updates, there has evolved a new notion of what we may call as positive bragging. The more you are active the greater is your visibility and the more is your market penetration.

Constant bombarding will either get you bouquets or on the worse side, brickbats. Amidst all this noise, what impact will a single tweet, post or video make?

So, shamelessly self-promote. Be loud, be frequent and be informative. But, don’t get too pushy lest you want to push people away. Here are some tips to shamelessly self-promote and yet avoid being vexatious.

Study your readers- Consider what will interest your followers. Study them, learn what they would read and know and you can instantly connect their interests with what you want to promote. Slip in a thing or two, in-between and you will likely be heard not ignored. Apply the thumbs rule and follow simple demand and supply basics.

Be real- Share things you truly believe in. Just because others are doing well it doesn’t mean it would fetch you the same results. Share your experiences and make your own mistakes. The help your learn.

Make sense and add value – Time is money so if someone is spending time on you, do not make them feel that they have wasted it. The time invested should be worth every penny. Bragging does not mean you have to say any and every thing. Be selective and careful of what you share.

Filter information- Do not over burden your readers with loads of information. End of the day we all are intellectually lethargic. Be crisp, brief and informative.

So do not shy away, shamelessly self promote. Do you agree?
